Lil Wayne is a man of the people. Prior to yesterday’s (March reports from tmz.com that Weezy would be serving out his one-year gun charge at Rikers Island under protective custody, it ends up that the rap superstar will be treated like any other inmate.
According to New York’s Daily News Wayne’s lawyer, Stacey Richman, originally claimed that the rap superstar was being forced into protective custody. Stephen Morello, a spokesperson for the Correctional Department, cleared up those allegations, saying that the New Orleans-bred MC will have “general population escort” status. This means that whenever Lil Tunechi is outside of his housing unit, he will be accompanied by a correction captain; similar to how authorities handle gang members.
Inside his housing unit, on the other hand, he has the option to socialize with the 17 other men sharing his cell block.
Wayne was arrested in 2007 when a police officer boarded his tour bus, after smelling marijuana. Once inside the vehicle she caught the rapper with a .40 caliber handgun. Last October he entered a guilty plea in order to receive lesser jail time. He was sentenced and immediately shipped off to Rikers yesterday, after several failed attempts. With good behavior the Young Money general may be home in eight months.

This isn’t the first time this dude has been accused for being drunk, obnoxious, and sexually assaulting women:
A 20-year-old college student accused Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger of sexually assaulting her at a nightclub early Friday during a night on the town near where he owns a lake home.
Police said the alleged assault occurred early Friday morning in Milledgeville, about 85 miles southeast of Atlanta. The player owns a home about 30 miles to the north on Lake OconeeThe two-time Super Bowl champion, who turned 28 on Tuesday, and some of his friends were seen visiting local restaurants and bars Thursday night.
Deputy Police Chief Richard Malone said Roethlisberger had been with three other people who were mingling with another group that included the alleged victim. Malone said the woman and her party contacted a nearby police officer following the alleged assault.
“He’s been identified as being at the scene and there are allegations naming him as the perpetrator,” Malone said. Several areas of the nightclub were considered a crime scene, Malone said, but he would not elaborate. Roethlisberger and the alleged victim have been interviewed and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she was treated and released, Malone said. Police said Roethlisberger and his attorney were cooperating with investigators. He was not in custody and has not been charged with a crime.
The allegations are especially sensitive for Roethlisberger, who has been sued by a Reno woman, Andrea McNulty, who claims he raped her in 2008 at a Lake Tahoe hotel. He denies those allegations and has asked for counter-damages. The player’s agent, Ryan Tollner, said in a statement that they are skeptical of the motive of the alleged victim in Milledgeville because of the previous Lake Tahoe allegations.
“Last night, Ben and his friends met a group of women and everyone mingled together throughout the evening,” the statement said. “We have spoken to law enforcement. Based on information currently available, an allegation was made against Ben, which appeared to be dismissed after a preliminary investigation last night. Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive, but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved.” The nightclub, Capital City, is a popular spot for college students who attend Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville. It was crowded Friday night, with a country band playing, and there was a $20 cover charge to get in.

Many people relate to Kanye , because we went through similar struggles as they did having people try to destroy your dreams, working a dead end retail job, work hard and diligently to make your dreams possible, and never stop believing that you can finally live out your dream. Since our society is based on conformity and having big dreams is often times considered a waste of time. He showed that you can follow those wild dreams without listening to the naysayers.

ONTARIO, Ohio (CBS) Samson Ojo, a 24-year-old Ohio man, took a bathroom break at the movie theater to rape a young woman, then returned to finish watching the film with his wife and kids, police told CBS News' Crimesider.
On Sunday, Feb. 14, Ojo allegedly followed the 21-year-old woman out of a movie at the Cinemark Theater about 70 miles north of Columbus. Police say he stalked her in the bathroom, then forced her into an empty movie theater where he raped her.
Ojo's wife helped police catch her husband because she was suspicious that he left the theatre more than once. The wife told police at one point Ojo sat behind the 21-year-old woman in the movie theater and she came up to him and asked him what he was doing.
Police told Crimesider that Ojo was not surprised at all when he was arrested. In fact, he had no reaction at all.
The man is charged with rape and kidnapping.
The alleged victim told Fox 8 News, "The thing that makes me the most sick about it, is that he went and sat back down like nothing had happened." "I want to feel like me, I don't feel like me," the woman told Fox. "You don't react. You don't know what to do."
"It's a very horrific crime, in my eyes," Ontario, Ohio Police Chief Rodney Smith told the channel.
Chief Smith told Crimesider Ojo is in jail on a one million dollar bond.

Three teachers in California are in jeopardy of losing their jobs after making the decision to honor Black History month by giving their students portraits of O.J. Simpson, RuPaul and Dennis Rodman.
The three white teachers who teach third and fourth grade are on administrative leave after giving their students portraits of the “unlikely” Black heroes to carry in the Black History Month parade.
The incident occurred Friday at Wadsworth Elementary school in Los Angeles.
While other children toted pictures of Nelson Mandela, Harriet Tubman and President Obama during the festivities, the teachers chose to give their students pictures of the basketball player, accused murderer and notorious drag queen.
The Los Angeles chapter of the NAACP reported the incident to District Superintendent Ramon Cortines after receiving a complaint.
Chapter President Leon Jenkins thinks the decision to honor O.J., Rodman and Paul was meant to make a mockery of Black History month and he released a statement saying,
“These are not the people we want our young people to emulate or believe these people represent the best of the African-American community. It's hard for the NAACP to believe this was a mistake."

We were wondering when Google would have something to say about Apple's patent lawsuit against HTC, since the majority of the claims appear to implicate Android itself, and while the knives aren't out yet, we just got a short-but-sweet statement from a spokesperson:
"We are not a party to this lawsuit. However, we stand behind our Android operating system and the partners who have helped us to develop it."
We're quite curious to see whether this means Google will contribute money and/or manpower to HTC's legal defense -- we'd bet we'll see some of Eric Schmidt's crew at the table when this thing finally hits a courtroom. In related news, HTC 's posted up a short, more formal version of the statement we received yesterday, saying that it "believes that consumer choice is a key component to success in the smartphone industry," and that it doesn't think the suit "poses a short-term material impact to its business." That makes sense, seeing as it'll be weeks before HTC even files a response to the suit, and months -- if not years -- before it's resolved. We'll see how it goes.
Wow this is seriously great news, as when these came out the first time around there were no stores in Michigan that got them. Now that our sneaker culture has developed this gives me and many others the chance to cop these for retail. Come on Nike, make it happen!

After many years of Ben Stiller saying he would go back to the world of Zoolander, it never came to be ... until now: Deadline Hollywood reports that Paramount and Stiller are teaming up for a PG-13 Zoolander 2. And as much as I've expressed my trepidation in 2006 and 2008, they've gone and grabbed the one man who will make me see it. The Evil DJ -- otherwise known as Justin Theroux -- will write and direct the sequel.
Nikki Finke writes: "I've learned that Ben and Justin are working on the script together, and Theroux is going to Fashion Week in Paris to 'immerse himself on what is current in fashion.'" Of course, Owen Wilson is an essential part of the mix, but he hasn't made a deal yet. (Is there any chance he wouldn't? Could he possibly take on Marmaduke and not do this sequel?) And, while Hansel isn't in yet, it appears that Jonah Hill -- Mr. Appear in Every Comedy -- is in negotiations to play the villain, seemingly elbowing aside our beloved Mugatu.

James filed paperwork to switch from No. 23 to No. 6, the league confirmed Tuesday.

"The first thing I think of is Dr. J," Cavaliers coach Mike Brown said.
The All-Star said in November that he was thinking of giving up 23 out of respect for his hero Michael Jordan, but at that time he was "50-50," according to the newspaper.
"I've done it," James told The Plain Dealer Monday. "I already sent it in. I'm going to be No. 6."
Six is James' jersey number on the Olympic team, and he wears it every day at practice. but the NBA does not have to grant his request. If James switches teams, he can choose any number he wishes. Permission for a number change is required only if he stays with the Cavaliers.
"All it does is back up LeBron's beliefs," Brown said. "He's a loyalty guy. When he believes in something, he sticks to his guns and he believes wholeheartedly in what he's doing."
He isn't the first superstar to change numbers mid-career. Among others, Jordan briefly wore No. 45 after coming out of retirement with the Bulls, and Kobe Bryant more recently switched from No. 8 to No. 24 with the Lakers.
"We remember the 8 on Kobe, but we also know the 24," Cavs point guard Mo Williams said. "After a year or two, people will look past the old number and let it rest with Jordan."
James will be part of the vaunted 2010 free-agent class that includes Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
Although Bulls fans would like to see James try to make No. 6 as legendary as No. 23 in Chicago, New York also has maneuvered to have enough cap space to sign him.
Cleveland can sign James to a longer, more lucrative deal, however.
James dismissed a question about his future shortly after the Cavaliers beat the Knicks 124-93 Monday night.
"I stopped answering free agent questions a long time ago," he said.

Allen Iverson's second stint with the team he once led to the NBA Finals ended Tuesday when the Sixers announced he would not return for the rest of the season.
Iverson has mostly been absent from the team for a month, returning to Atlanta to be with his family as they deal with an undisclosed illness of his 4-year-old daughter, Messiah.
Iverson, who returned as a free agent to the 76ers in December, has not played since Feb. 20.
"After discussing the situation with Allen, we have come to the conclusion that he will not return to the Sixers for the remainder of the season, as he no longer wishes to be a distraction to the organization and teammates that he loves very deeply," team president Ed Stefanski said. "It has been very difficult for Allen and the team to maintain any consistency as he tries to balance his career with his personal life."
The former NBA MVP and four-time scoring champion averaged 13.8 points in 28 games this season. He started the season with Memphis but only played three games before he announced a short-lived retirement.
The 34-year-old Iverson made a tearful return to Philadelphia eager to prove he wasn't finished after disastrous stints in Detroit and Memphis.
He returned to a sold-out crowd dotted with No. 3 jerseys, but he only showed flashes of his former playmaking self when he ruled the NBA as one of the best guards around. He scored at least 20 points six times -- including a 23-point effort in a game against the Lakers that turned into a throwback one-on-one duel vs. Kobe Bryant.
"Before it was like, give him the ball, everybody spread out and let him do his thing," Sixers center Samuel Dalembert said. "Now, he's like, you have to run this, you have to get him involved. Iverson said at a Feb. 15 practice that it was emotionally draining to leave his family to play basketball.
"It was tough to leave her and my wife and kids," Iverson said. "But I do have a commitment and an obligation to be with my team and to do my job. But it is rough. I think this is the only thing I do in life where for a couple hours during the game I don't think about nothing but [basketball]."
Iverson was hobbled by an arthritic left knee and constantly needed it drained. He usually walked gingerly around the locker room after games. His dwindling production didn't bother his fans -- Iverson was voted an Eastern Conference All-Starter, though he did not play, skipping it to be with his daughter.
Dalembert, who played with Iverson in both stints, said A.I. was not the same player who once terrorized the opposition. But Dalembert also noticed a more reserved, humbled Iverson who just wanted to fit in instead of dominating the ball or making splashy headlines with controversial or selfish actions.
"He was focused, he was being a leader," Dalembert said Monday night. "It was a completely different Iverson. The role we needed him to play, he was doing it. He understood what he needed to do for the team and he came in and did it."
The Sixers have been awful with or without Iverson. They are 22-37 after a 126-105 loss Monday night to Orlando. They were on a nine-game losing streak when Iverson made his debut on Dec. 7.
Now, the global superstar who popularized "talking about practice," might be talking about retirement. This time for good.

Rapper Lil Wayne's sentencing has been delayed yet again, this time because of a fire in the New York courthouse where he was expected to be sentenced to one year in jail Tuesday morning on gun possession charges stemming from a 2007 arrest.
Wayne, 27, was originally scheduled to be sentenced last month, but that hearing was delayed for him to undergo dental surgery, including eight root canals.
According to The New York Times, a two-alarm fire broke out in the basement of the Manhattan Criminal Courthouse around 10:30 A.M. Tuesday. The blaze was put out within 45 minutes, but the building was evacuated due to smoke and closed for the remainder of the day.
At least eight people sustained minor injuries -- five firefighters, two civilians, and one prisoner.
No announcement has been made about when Wayne's sentencing will be rescheduled.

A group of veteran players met with the league’s Competition Committee on Thursday to go over rule and safety issues. The proposed change was discussed at the meeting with players who seemed open to the idea.

The change would be subtle and wouldn’t necessarily require that both teams get possession. Any touchdown would still result in a sudden-death result.
However, if the team that got the first possession of overtime scored only a field goal, the other team would get a possession. If the second team scored a touchdown, it would win. If it scored a field goal, the game would continue, whereupon it would revert to simple sudden death.
Also, if the first team to get the ball didn’t score but the second team did, the game would be over immediately.
Again, this would only apply to the playoffs, but two of the 11 playoff games went to overtime this season. The first one between the Arizona Cardinals and Green Bay Packers wouldn’t have been impacted because it ended with a touchdown being scored.
However, the NFC Championship Game would have gone longer under this proposed rule because New Orleans scored a field goal to end the game on the first possession of overtime. The Saints drove 39 yards on 10 plays to set up a 40-yarder by Garrett Hartley(notes) that sent New Orleans to the Super Bowl, where it won the team’s first championship.

Congrats first and foremost to the homie Big Sean for doin his best to put Detroit hip-hop on the map. Out of everyone I rock with Sean, J. Cole, and Wiz Khalifa the most. I think they're the most talented of the bunch and have good teams behind themselves to eventually break into the mainstream.
I'm so up and down on Spizike's but this colorway is pretty dope to me. I was back and forth on em until I seen how icy blue that sole is. What do you think? They're scheduled for May 2010.

I just recently dl'ed just about every song by dude to see what the hype was about, and this guy really delivered on that hype and more. He's actually married to Erikah Badu, and Just Blaze is fuckin with him heavy. Electronica is easily one of my favorite artists out right now.
