A Florida judge awarded nearly $1.2 billion on Friday to a Cuban American former CIA operative who hunted revolutionary Che Guevara, in a lawsuit he brought against Cuba over the suicide death of his father. The award eclipses past judgments against the Cuban government handed down by courts in Miami, the heart of Cuban exile opposition to the island's communist leadership. But it was not immediately clear if the judgment could be collected.
Gustavo Villoldo, now in his 70s, blamed Guevara, former Cuban president Fidel Castro and others for the death of his father, who killed himself in 1959 after the family's property was seized in the wake of Castro's revolution.
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Peter Adrien awarded Villoldo damages of $1.179 billion, a court official said. "You have brought closure to us after 50 years. Justice has prevailed," the Miami Herald quoted Villoldo as saying following the verdict.
Villoldo's attorneys told the Herald they would try to collect the judgment from frozen assets belonging to the Cuban government. But their prospects for success were uncertain. The frozen accounts in the United States have been depleted by past judgments. The award far surpassed a judgment of $253 million last year in a wrongful death case brought against Cuba by the family of Rafael del Pino Siero, a U.S. citizen who was a friend of Fidel Castro but turned against him after Castro took power in 1959. Castro's forces captured del Pino Siero and he died in a Cuban prison cell 18 years later.
The award to del Pino's children bested a $188 million judgment for the relatives of three people killed when a Cuban military jet shot down two small planes belonging to the Miami-based exile group Brothers to the Rescue in 1996.
Villoldo is a former CIA operative who participated in the failed Bay of Pigs invasion and later helped hunt down Guevara in the jungles of Bolivia. The bearded revolutionary was captured and killed by CIA-backed Bolivian soldiers in October 1967.
Villoldo has said he personally supervised the burial of Guevara's body and cut off a lock of Guevara's hair, which he kept for decades. The hair and related items were sold at auction for $119,500 in October 2007.
Guevara, a leading figure of the Cuban revolution, became an international icon of rebellion for generations of leftists. The Cuban government recovered what it said were Guevara's remains from Bolivia more than a decade ago and buried them at a monument in Santa Clara, Cuba.

A Romanian tennis star has announced she will undergo breast reduction surgery in a bid to boost her performance on the court.
Simona Halep, 17, says her 34DD breasts are hampering her tennis and is reported to have scheduled private surgery later this year.

For those who don't know who or what Slaughterhouse is it is a Hip Hop supergroup consisting of rappers Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce Da 5'9". They have signed a one album deal with E1 Records (formerly Koch Records). The album is due for release July 7. The album features production from The Alchemist, DJ Khalil, StreetRunner and D12's Mr. Porter. I honestly can't wait for this album, as two of my favorite rappers in the game right now Royce and Budden are members of the group. Since they are signed to a Indie label they're not gonna have any watering down of the music, and all 4 lyricists will have the ultimate canvas to paint their vivid images. If you are a TRUE fan of Hip Hop then be sure to check this out. Slaughterhouse is also apart of the Rock The Bells Tour coming to a city near you. A few songs the group has done already are Slaughterhouse, Onslaught, Move On, Wack MCs, and Fight Club.
Last week Big Boi took the stage in his hometown of Atlanta to perform as the headlining act for the traveling sneaker show Sneaker Pimps in a pair of sneakers that raised some eyebrows in the crowd and later online. CNN covered the event and spoke to Big Boi in his one-of-a-kind “Bugs Bunny” Nike Air Jordan VIIIs.
Big Boi boasted to CNN that his collection stacks 400 pairs deep and that he rarely pays for his shoes as shoe companies send him pairs.

C-Murder To Be Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Attempted Murder (Live Footage Of The 2001 Shooting)
Rapper C-Murder has pleaded no contest to attempted murder charges.
The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller, plead out to two counts of attempted second-degree murder will be sentenced to 10 years in prison in a deal with the state at the recommendation of the prosecutor.
Miller will also receive credit for time served in jail since August 2001.
Millers trial began today and the 38-year-old rapper was accused of trying to shoot the owner of Club Raggs, a venue in Baton Rouge, and a bouncer at Plank Road nightclub in August 2001.
A no-contest plea is nearly the same as a guilty plea in criminal court, but does not mean an individual has admitted to guilt in a civil court case.

"Jay is in control of everything in his domain," Kanye, the album's producer, said last week during a promotional visit for his book, "Thank You and You're Welcome."
"He's just been working on it, and it's gonna be amazing when he drops it. I think it's good he's taking his time to give people the best product possible and not being rushed by this fast-food, media-outlet, Internet, everything-is-getting-leaked, people-stealing your-songs-before-you-can-mix-them-and-put-them-online world we're living in right now."
Kanye revealed that he and Jay went back in and made some alterations to B3 since they first started.
"We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album," West said, "to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!
"It doesn't matter to me," Kanye laughed about Jay not wanting to incorporate the sound that is featured so heavily on Kanye's 808s & Heartbreak. "It's music; it's just sonics. No release date has been set for Blueprint 3, however, last week, Jay-Z secured his release from Def Jam Records, which will allow the album to come out on his own Roc Nation label, presumably in partnership with Rock Nation (although the specifics of that deal have not been confirmed). Meanwhile, Kanye has been in the studio, grabbing inspiration for his own next album.
Thank God for this. I honestly think that a Jay album with auto-tune could take what could of been a classic album and marked it with an ugly, hairy, chunky mole! Thank you Hov for having the artistic integrity to not use auto-tune just because everyone else is. The anticipation for Blueprint 3 has now increased that much more.
